We lament to tell you that Dr. Peter Wade Johnson died from a heart attack on March 25,2021, on his 79th anniversary, in Brockville. Wade will also be remembered for a long time by his fiancee and oldest friend, Beverley Joan (Smith) Johnson. Wade Johnson was the the only son of the late Marjorie (Wade) Johnson and Peter Johnson. His sisters-in-law Virginia Roode (Jim) and Diane Miller; nephew and niece Jeff Roode (Aidan & Emmett) and Steve Roode, Kiki (Jackson & Kennedy); and some other aunts and their spouses and children will memorize him brilliantly. He met Bev, “the joy of his life,” in the summer at the University of Guelph, where she was finalising Teachers Physical Education Courses. They attached the knot in 1967.

Wade used to be brought into the world in 1942 in Chatham, Ontario, and brought up here already. He successively participated the University of Guelph, where he achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964 and a Master of Science degree in 1966. (1966). He eventually went on to the University of California, where he received his Doctorate in Plant Pathology (1969). His 35-year job was just with Agriculture Canada’s Research Branch.
He collaborated as a Research Scientist at the Harrow Research Station for six years, four months at the Vineland Research Station, nine years as the Director of the Tobacco Research Station in Delhi, Ontario, and 17 months as the Director of the Atlantic Food and Horticulture Research Centre in Kentville, Nova Scotia. In 2004, he relocated to Brockville to retirement.
